Beijing Zhangjiakou high-speed rail is a national key construction project. It is an important traffic guarantee line for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. The Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway is 174 kilometers long. After its completion, the time between Beijing and Zhangjiakou will be shortened to 50 minutes. It is of great strategic significance to boost the Olympic Games, promote the integration of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and connect the west.

The whole track laying project is expected to be completed on May 30, 2019; the track fine tuning will be completed on July 31, 2019; and the joint commissioning will be completed by the end of next year. The technical personnel of China Railway three bureaus are closely related to laying track and welding rail. According to the high-speed rail standard, the error of welded rail seams must be controlled between 0.1mm and 0.3mm. The purpose is to eliminate the welds between the rails and make the track smoother. In order to ensure the welding quality of high-speed rail, China has carried out unprecedented research and practice in technology, engineering and other aspects, and has made important achievements. It is reported that the China Railway Third Bureau rail team has completed the laying of rail length of more than 13,000 kilometers, of which the high-speed rail completed more than 8,000 kilometers, accounting for about one third of the domestic high-speed rail opening.
