 Meng Jianwei, former deputy director of Inner Mongolia Public Security Bureau, was found to be involved in serious violation of discipline.


Meng Jianwei was born in 1954 in Linhe, Inner Mongolia. During his 40 years as a policeman, he served as deputy captain of Wuhai traffic police detachment, captain of detachment, deputy director of Wuhai Judicial Bureau and director of reeducation through labor.

Since July 1994, Meng Jianwei has served as the director of the three public security bureaus of Wuhai, Wulanchabu and Baotou. In December 2007, Meng Jianwei was promoted to the Standing Committee of the Baotou Municipal Committee, Secretary of the political and legislative committee and director of the Public Security Bureau. Three years later, Meng Jianwei left Baotou and became a member of the CPC Committee, deputy director of the Inner Mongolia Public Security Department (main office level), and a member of the CPPCC Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In December 2017, Meng Jianwei retired.
