 Hongkong will issue about 5000 cross border private car Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge permit.


The Transport Department announced that persons holding the Hong Kong quota for the use of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (hereinafter referred to as the Bridge) Guangdong-Hong Kong cross-border private cars and applying for a Closed Road Permit (hereinafter referred to as the Permit) to the Transport Department have been notified by letter to bring relevant letters and offices in batches on the date recommended by the Transport Departments letter. Documents and fees are required to go to the transport departments transit service group to complete the application.

The government of Guangdong and Hong Kong agreed to issue ten thousand bridge quotas to cross border private cars in Hongkong. In response to the increase in traffic at the beginning of the bridge opening, the Transport Department announced on 25 May this year that it would issue a phased license to Hong Kong cross-border private cars with bridge quotas, of which about 5,000 were issued before the bridge was opened. After the opening of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge on the 24 th of this month, traffic around the Hongkong port of the bridge is generally smooth. The transport department therefore decided to issue the remaining 5000 permits in accordance with the order submitted by the applicant. It is reported that the remaining 5,000 permits will be issued in batches starting on November 5 and expected to be completed within November. In addition, the Acting Chief Executive of the HKSAR, Mr. Zhang Jianzhong, said on the 30th that the HKSAR Government was highly concerned about the queuing of passengers at the Hong Kong port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge over the weekend and would follow up with shuttle bus operators.
