Tokyo Medical University recently came out to operate the entrance examination, so that the children of senior officials and other candidates smoothly admitted, and there are adverse practices for female candidates. Tokyo Medical University released its internal findings in early August to confirm the matter.
Because of the unfairness of the Tokyo Medical University exam, which may last from 2006 to this year, 24 women in their teens and 30s handed over documents on claims made with the assistance of lawyers to university staff.
The groups demands to the Tokyo Medical University included that the university must publish the results of the initial entrance examination, refund the registration fee for the examination, plus a compensation of 100,000 yen per person for each examination, which totalled about 7.7 million yen.
Japans medical universities have been exposed to unfair examination disputes, but Tokyo Medical University failed students collectively to the school claim, is the first case.
Members of the lawyersgroup who helped failed candidates claim compensation said that Tokyo Medical Universitys prompt and honest response would not only help restore outside trust in the school, but also restore the original dignity of the women in the community.
Jin Zehao, general manager of Tokyo Medical University, said that after confirming the claim and other contents, we should study how to deal with it.
