Comrade Zhu Xu, a renowned performing artist, consultant to Beijing Peoples Art Committee and retired cadre of Beijing Peoples Art Theatre, died in Beijing at 2:20 a.m. on September 15, 2018, at the age of 88.
Zhu Xu was born in Shenyang, Liaoning Province in February 1930. He entered North China University in May 1949, studied theatre in three theatre disciplines at Huada University, and after graduation joined the 2nd Cultural and Worker League of Huada University, from a lamplighter to an actor, thus officially opening his drama life. In November of the same year, Zhu Xu was transferred from Hua Da to the drama troupe of Central Academy of Drama. In June 1952, the Beijing peoples Art Theatre was established.
