BEIJING, September 14 (Xinhua) Zhanjiang, Guangdong, Zhanjiang Customs in Maoming, Guangxi, Nanning and other places to carry out simultaneous operations to eliminate three groups of smuggling endangered animals and plants and a group of smuggling solid waste.

At present, the case is being further investigated.

It is understood that this action is to investigate the 8?01 case of smuggling of precious animal products on the basis of the successful expansion of the case. Up to the 14th, about 401 tons of suspected smuggled goods were seized, including 794 Nautilus shell, 674 giant Phoenix shell, one cat leopard skin, 43 African Python skin and 2.23 tons of sea willow, listed in Appendix II to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora; and the system of rare and endangered wildlife under state-level protection. Seven leopard skin specimens and one lizard specimens, 26 327 precious and endangered wildlife products, 1612 snail shells, 1 green turtle specimens and a large number of other snail shells and sea cucumbers, tiger shark skin, shark fin, seaweed and other seafood under the states second-level protection. The initial estimate is worth 470 million yuan.

It is reported that in 1-8 months of this year, 139 cases of private cases were collected by Zhanjiang customs, with a value of 115 million yuan.
