 Huawei focuses on auto business: integrating with terminal business

On November 25, Huawei released a management document in Xinsheng community. According to the document, Huaweis intelligent automobile business has been integrated with the intelligent terminal business, and the business jurisdiction relationship is uniformly owned by the consumer business management committee.

According to the document, in order to enhance the interaction of technology and resources between intelligent car parts business and intelligent terminal business, Huawei adjusted the business jurisdiction of intelligent vehicle solution Bu from ICT business management committee to consumer business management committee with the approval of Ren Zhengfei.

In addition, Huawei will reorganize the consumer bgirb (Product Investment Review Committee) as the intelligent terminal and intelligent vehicle parts IRB, adjust the investment decision-making and portfolio management of the intelligent car parts business from the ICT Management Committee to the intelligent terminal and intelligent car parts IRB, and appoint Yu Chengdong as the director of the intelligent terminal and intelligent vehicle parts IRB.

Huaweis intelligent automobile business originally belonged to the ICT Management Committee and was under the jurisdiction of Xu Zhijun, Huaweis rotating chairman. After the adjustment, the smart car and terminal business have been merged at the investment level, and the product investment review committee led by Yu Chengdong has the right to determine the resources required for the above businesses.

The document once again reiterated that Huawei does not build complete vehicles, but focuses on ICT technology to help car companies build good cars and become an incremental component provider of intelligent connected vehicles. Both intelligent terminals and IRB, as well as the consumer business management committee, should adhere to Huaweis strategy of not building cars, and have no right to change this strategy.

In the future, those who propose to build cars and interfere with the company can be transferred from their posts and look for other posts. Huawei said in the document.

Huaweis smart car business has been moving frequently recently. On October 30, hi, a smart car solution brand, was released, hoping to provide smart car solutions for car manufacturers. According to reports, hi includes a new computing and communication architecture, five intelligent systems (intelligent driving, intelligent cockpit, intelligent electric, intelligent networking and intelligent car cloud), as well as a full set of intelligent components such as lidar and ar-hud.

For C-end users, Huawei also released the first automotive rear mounted hardware product, the on-board smart screen, equipped with Hongmeng 2.0 system. So far, Huawei automobile has completed the C-terminal multi-dimensional layout including hmsforcar, hicar in vehicle projection screen and in car smart screen of rear mounted products.
