Jake Sullivan, 44, was named national security adviser. Mr. Sullivan is an expert on Irans nuclear issue. He was a former director of the U.S. State Departments policy planning department, and served as his national security adviser when Biden was previously vice president.
Biden stressed that old thinking and unchanging habits could not be used to meet the challenges of the new era, and the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of these team members contributed to their appointment.
