Two employees of downstream contractors in Nanke wafer plant 18 were contaminated by chemical residues in a small area during the waste liquid pipeline project.

TSMC said that the reason was that the wrong pipeline was removed when the downstream contractor was working, and because the machine was stopped, it was contaminated by some residual chemical liquid in the pipeline.

TSMC said that production line production would not be affected. Two employees were sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. After inspection, they were all in good condition and would continue to observe.

TSMC, founded in 1987, is the worlds largest foundry semiconductor manufacturer, with customers including apple and Qualcomm. Its headquarters are located in the Hsinchu Science Industrial Park in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
