Russian media: Turkish defense minister confirmed that the country has tested S400 air defense missile

Russian made S-400 air defense missile system

According to the report, Turkey had previously issued an international alert through the maritime communication system NAVTEX, saying that it would carry out artillery exercise in Sinop city in the Black Sea area from October 13 to 17. Earlier, sources in the field of military technology told satellite news agency that Turkey had successfully tested the S-400 air defense system purchased from Russia in the northern part of the country, and all missiles launched hit the target.

Turkeys defense minister, Hulusi akar, then responded to the relevant questions, saying: every contract for the purchase of defense industrial products contains tests. They are part of the procurement plan, and this is purely technical activity.

The latest Russian S-400 air defense system was delivered to Turkey in mid July 2019, which led to a crisis in Turkeys relations with the United States. The United States demanded that Turkey abandon the deal and buy the Patriot system instead, threatening to postpone or even cancel the sale of the latest F-35 fighters to Turkey, and impose sanctions. Ankara refused to make concessions and continued negotiations with Russia on another batch of S-400 air defense missile systems.
