Tesla will recall part of the 2020 model y equipped with global taillights and trailers, the NHTSA said.
However, owners do not need to drive to the service center. Instead, Tesla has released a new software update to fix the problem for all car owners for free. The company said it had released a software update on September 23, 2020.
Tesla launched the model y in March last year, which has four versions: Standard Version, rear wheel drive long range version, dual motor all wheel drive long range version and performance high performance version.
Currently, the company only produces modely at its Fremont plant, but the companys Shanghai plant is also accelerating the expansion of its modely plant, which is expected to start production next year.
Last week, the company added 10 miles to the long-range version of the model y on its U.S. website, from 316 to 326 miles.
