As a world-class research university, Tsinghua University has a deep foundation in scientific and technological innovation. Wudaokou College of finance is a financial and technological innovation oriented business school with the most top scientific research strength and teaching staff in Asia. Digital China project is co founded by Tsinghua University and Huawei. It is the first time to systematically teach the practice and management methodology of digital transformation from strategy to implementation.

The 76 students in the first class of Digital China are all leading entrepreneurs from various fields after being selected at different levels. The average age of the students is 43 years old. More than 50% of the students have masters degree or above, and 5% have a doctors degree. About 70% of the students are the top decision makers of the enterprise, and the rest are also the core executives and leaders of the enterprise. They manage more than 3 trillion yuan of assets, of which more than 20% of enterprises have assets of more than 10 billion yuan, 50% of them are more than 1 billion yuan, and about 20% of domestic and foreign listed enterprises. Real estate, manufacturing, trade, logistics and other real enterprises account for about 60%, financial service institutions and scientific and technological innovation service enterprises account for about 20%, gathering the scene demand, technical support and capital assistance of digital innovation. Im glad to see that most of the students are from large-scale real economy enterprises, which is highly consistent with Tsinghua Wudaokous goal of promoting financial service economic growth and serving technological innovation. Xu Wenwei, director of Huawei Company and President of Strategic Research Institute, delivered a speech on behalf of Huawei and shared the theme of from innovation to invention. Xu Wenwei, a member of Huaweis core management, has been in charge of Huaweis product and technology research and development for many years, designed Huaweis first chip and founded a chip design center (later renamed Huawei Hisense). He is now responsible for Huaweis basic research and cutting-edge technology exploration. He cooperates with more than 300 universities around the world to systematically explore and layout the basic technology, cutting-edge technology and disruptive technology research of the industry in the next 5-10 years. In 2019, Xu Wenwei, on behalf of Huawei, signed a framework agreement on science and technology cooperation with Tsinghua University.

Xu Wenwei believes that Huawei, as an innovative enterprise led by science and technology, has accumulated a lot of ideas, methods and practices during its growth from small to large. Huaweis success can be copied by the outstanding entrepreneurs present here.

Xu Wenwei proposed that facing the future, Huaweis innovation will move from the 1.0 era of technology and engineering, products and solutions based on customer needs to the era of Innovation 2.0 based on vision driven theoretical breakthrough and basic technology invention. Huawei should unite with universities, research institutions, academia and industry to provide black land for the new digital ecology of the industry, and create, share and win-win with its ecological partners, so as to realize Huaweis vision of bringing the digital world into every person, every family and every organization, and building an intelligent world of interconnected things.

In his speech, Wang Jianzhou said that digital transformation is an important topic for all enterprises and even for the global economy. The knowledge learned by entrepreneurs in the past needs to be updated and their working methods need to be improved. In this exciting change, there are also hopes and opportunities. How to find such opportunities is the goal of Digital China course.

Su Liqing, vice president and chief digital transformation officer of Huawei cloud, shared the theme of digital transformation. He pointed out that digital transformation is not a question of who subverts whom, but that entity enterprises should use new technologies such as cloud, artificial intelligence, 5g, big data and blockchain to improve efficiency.

In the future, more current Huawei executives and practical experts will be on the platform of Digital China project to comprehensively teach Huaweis transformation in R & D, supply chain and marketing.

Digital China is an iterative upgrade based on the digital economy course smart entrepreneur initiated by Wudaokou, Tsinghua University. Nearly 100 alumni of smart entrepreneur in the past two periods are also pioneers of Digital China. Liu Huaiping, monitor of the second stage class of smart entrepreneur, deputy to the 13th National Peoples Congress, vice president of China Environmental Protection Industry Association and chairman of kunyue Internet, shared his learning experience and digital practice.

Tao Yishan, deputy to the 10th National Peoples Congress and chairman of Tang Renshen group (002567), as a new representative, shared the exploration of agricultural digital intelligence. He achieved 16 billion yuan of sales revenue in the whole industry chain of pigs, which not only successfully listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, but also ranked among Chinas top 500 manufacturing industry and Chinas top 500 most valuable brands.

At the end of the activity, the guests and students wore the emblem of Tsinghua University, sang the school song of Tsinghua University, and witnessed the holy moment of the opening of the school. AI Chao, vice president of Huawei global technology cooperation, and Zhu Xiangzhan, chief operating officer of Huawei cloud Consulting Co., Ltd., and 76 students of the first digital China class attended the opening ceremony.

From October 17 to 18, Wang Jianzhou, academic consultant of the Digital China project, Zheng Yelai, vice president of Huawei and President of Huawei cloud business, and Yang Xueshan, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of industry and information technology, gave lectures to the students. On the production university research platform of Tsinghua University and Huawei, in the wonderful and substantial learning time in the next 18 months, leading entrepreneurs will harvest valuable wealth such as technology, talent, capital and cooperation, and jointly create a great and brilliant Digital China.
