If the news is confirmed, Sony and Kingman will follow the pace of major chip manufacturers applying for supply license to China. According to previous reports of major media, Intel and AMD have successfully applied for Huawei supply license.
Huawei is one of the largest customers of Sonys smart phone image sensor, while Kingman is the worlds second largest flash memory chip manufacturer and an important supplier of Huawei.
As previously reported by jimicronet, Jiaxia pointed out in its latest IPO documents that the US ban on Huawei may cause oversupply in the overall nandflash market and the price will fall.
In response to an application to the US Department of Commerce for supplies to China, a Sony spokesman said the company complied with all regulations but could not comment on specific customers. A spokesman for the knight also declined to comment.
