Honda announced to withdraw from F1 after 2021 and focus on environmental protection technology

Honda has returned to F1 as an engine supplier since 2015. However, the competitiveness and reliability of the hybrid units of Japanese manufacturers were far behind, and the cooperation with McLaren ended in a dismal end after only three years.

Since 2018, Honda has successively cooperated with Red Bull team 2 alfatoli and Red Bull team, and won the championship of three races in 2019 season. This season, red bull and alfatoli won the 70th anniversary Grand Prix and the Italian Grand Prix respectively, so far the Japanese manufacturer has won five F1 races.

After announcing the decision to withdraw from F1, Red Bull team sent a note of thanks: we thank them for their outstanding contribution in the power unit and look forward to our continued success in the rest of 2020 and 2021. Red Bull boss Horner also expressed understanding and respect for Hondas decision in the statement, and said he would strive to win in the remaining cooperation time. Although we are disappointed that we cant continue to work with Honda, we are proud of our success. The two teams owned by Red Bull won five victories and reached the podium 15 times. We thank everyone at Honda for their efforts. For the rest of 2020 and 2021, our common focus will not change, but we will strive to win and challenge for the championship, Horner said Source of this article: Netease sports Author: Benbo Erba responsible editor: Xu Song_ NS1943
