In terms of raw materials, spare parts and equipment in the later stage, TSMCs purchase proportion from Taiwan suppliers is increasing year by year, among which 66% of spare parts are targeted this year.
Although Taiwan manufacturers can not compete with European and American semiconductor equipment manufacturers in mainstream equipment, they have a certain competitiveness in OEM of equipment modules, secondary equipment, spare parts and raw materials.
TSMC expects that this years procurement ratio of raw materials from Taiwan suppliers will reach 46%, which can be increased by 2% compared with last year; the target of spare parts is 66%, which is 1% higher than last year; the procurement ratio of equipment in the later stage will reach about 33%, which is the same as last year.
TSMC said that choosing more supply chain companies in Taiwan has the advantages of improving supply flexibility, shortening the development time of new products, and reducing unnecessary costs.
Taiwans supply chain manufacturers said that to enter the TSMC supply chain, a lot of efforts should be put into system automation and quality improvement. TSMC will also conduct rigorous assessment and guidance for improvement.
