U.S. staff sergeant Ronald J. Villette died in an all terrain vehicle accident at a base in central Kuwait, the Pentagon said in a statement. The U.S. troops stationed at the base are mainly engaged in operations against Isis in Iraq and Syria.

Villette, who has served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for nearly six years, is an air transportation professional responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel and cargo on military transport aircraft.

The death occurred two days after the death of Jason panwenkai, a senior Air Force officer also assigned to Ali Salim air force base. On September 12, pan Wenkai died in a car accident while on patrol outside the base. U.S. central command officials said the two incidents are under investigation and there is no link between them, and both incidents have nothing to do with combat events.
