India purchases a large number of MLRS launch systems to be deployed on the border

Pinaka MLRS

Beml will produce 330 high-speed motor vehicles at its parakad plant in Kerala, which is expected to be delivered within three years. However, most of these vehicles will not be equipped with launchers, but will be used to carry more rockets.

The rocket, which is expected to have a range of 38 to 40 km, will be made by the private company economic explosives in Mumbai.

The recently purchased pinaka system will be delivered by 2024 and will be deployed on the northern and eastern borders to further enhance the operational capabilities of the border armed forces, the government information agency said. (end)
