Israeli attack on targets in southern Syria? Killing three foreign fighters

The report quoted Syrian human rights watch as saying the target of the air raid was Hezbollahs base in Syria. Three foreign armed elements were killed and a total of 10 people were injured.

In a statement, the group said Israeli missiles have hit several bases in the northeastern suburb of Deraa, where Hezbollah has troops. However, the statement did not specify that the dead fighters belonged to Hezbollah, because some Iranian backed forces were also active there.

According to the report, this is the first time that Israel has attacked Hezbollah targets in Syria since an air raid on Syria killed a Hizbullah personnel on July 20. After the last air raid, Hezbollah vowed to avenge the death of its members, leading to continued tension on the border between Lebanon and Israel.

As usual, the Israeli military did not comment on the air strikes.

The report quoted the Syrian Sanaa news agency as saying that the incoming missiles were fired from the Hebron mountains in the Golan Heights of Israel, and the Syrian militarys air defense system intercepted some missiles.

Since the civil war broke out in 2011, Israel has launched hundreds of attacks on Syria, targeting Syrian government forces, Iranian allies and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
