Hubei Xueba brought 14 million back to China to save ancient buildings in Endangered small cities for 18 years

Huang yinwu was born in Jingzhou, Hubei Province in 1974. In middle school, my father taught in China Academy of fine arts, and the whole family moved to Hangzhou. Why did a young man from the city come to Shaxi?

As a teenager, Huang yinwu was an atypical science student. He liked to read history books and was very Buddhist in personality. He was admitted to the architecture of Southeast University of Nanjing and then went to Switzerland to study for graduate students of Zurich Federal University of technology. In Europe, he had the opportunity to visit the buildings that he had been longing for for for a long time in Europe, and found the driving force to participate in the Shaxi project through continuous travel and investigation.

In 2003, 29 year old Huang yinwu went to Shaxi for the first time. As far as you can see, it is a decadent scene: wooden houses look crumbling, and there are broken bricks and tiles in front of and behind the houses. There is no electricity in the villagers homes and no street lights on the road. Because of the poverty, the people in the village began to move out. At the same time, it is a pure land and has not been affected by excessive development.

Huang yinwu presided over the rejuvenation project by stages and levels. Put every amount of money into practice. The money raised internationally is used to build the village gate, temple, stage and other ancient buildings; the funds allocated by the local government are used to build the infrastructure of Shaxi, such as water, electricity and sewage pipelines.

The Sideng street in Shaxi is the only surviving ancient market on the ancient tea horse road, where the market, shops, stage, temple, Madian and the surrounding village gate are retained. According to the research of Huang yinwu and local scholars of literature and history, the real reason for the formation of Sideng street is a temple built in the Ming Dynasty, which was later called Xingjiao temple.

The first task is to build a new temple gate. Huang yinwu designed and built a one story gate tower with two generals of hem and HA in front to show that it is a temple. It was built with the carpentry craft of Jianchuan County, which was built later.
