A senior security official in Lebanon, who asked not to be named, said that after the investigation, prosecutor general ovidat immediately ordered in a final ruling to ensure that the doors and holes in the warehouse were repaired and secured.
In accordance with the courts order, on 4 June, the national security agency of Lebanon instructed the port to deploy security for warehouse No. 12 and appointed the person in charge of repairing the warehouse door and the hole.
The repair work started, and a group of Syrian workers were dispatched, but no one supervised them when they went into the warehouse to start repairing holes and doors. The security official said.
An hour later, the fireworks set off a fire and then spread to the ammonium nitrate storage area, which explodes when the temperature exceeds 210 degrees, the senior security official said
The official accused the port authorities of not supervising maintenance personnel and storing fireworks in warehouses with large amounts of explosives.
