In July, the price of food, tobacco and alcohol rose by 10.2% year-on-year, which affected the rise of CPI (consumer price index) by about 3.07 percentage points. In food, the rise of livestock and meat prices by 61.1% has an impact on the rise of CPI by about 2.90%, of which the rise of pork price by 85.7% affects the rise of CPI by about 2.32%; the rise of fresh vegetable price by 7.9% affects the rise of CPI by about 0.19%; the rise of aquatic product price by 4.7% affects the rise of CPI by about 0.09%; the rise of grain price by 1.6% affects the rise of CPI by about 0.03%; the price of fresh fruits increases by 0.03% The decrease of 27.7% affected CPI decrease by 0.60%; egg price decreased by 14.5%, which affected CPI decrease by 0.09%.

Prices of the other seven categories rose three times and fell four times. Among them, the prices of other goods and services, medical care, education, culture and entertainment increased by 5.1%, 1.6% and 0.3%, respectively; the prices of transportation, communication and housing decreased by 4.4% and 0.7%, and the prices of clothing, daily necessities and services decreased by 0.5% and 0.1% respectively.

In July, the price of food, tobacco and alcohol rose by 2.0% month on month, affecting the CPI to rise by about 0.63%. In food, the rise of 7.4% in the price of livestock and meat affected the rise of CPI by about 0.51 percentage points, of which the rise of pork price by 10.3% affected the rise of CPI by about 0.46%; the rise of fresh vegetable price by 6.3% affected the rise of CPI by about 0.15%; the rise of egg price by 3.1% affected the rise of CPI by about 0.02%; the rise of aquatic product price by 0.4% affected the rise of CPI by about 0.01%; the price of fresh fruit increased by 0.01% 4%, which affected the CPI decrease by about 0.07%.

Other seven categories of prices rose two times, three flat and two fell. In July 2020, the ex factory prices of industrial producers in China decreased by 2.4% year-on-year and increased by 0.4% month on month; the purchase prices of industrial producers decreased by 3.3% year-on-year and increased by 0.9% month on month. From January to July, the ex factory price of industrial producers decreased by 2.0% compared with the same period last year, and the purchase price of industrial producers decreased by 2.7%.

On a year-on-year basis, CPI rose by 2.7%, an increase of 0.2 percentage points over the previous month. Among them, the food price rose by 13.2%, and the increase was expanded by 2.1 percentage points, which affected the rise of CPI by about 2.68 percentage points. Among the food products, the price of pork increased by 85.7%, 4.1 percentage points higher than that of the previous month; the price of fresh vegetables increased by 7.9%, with an increase of 3.7 percentage points; the price of aquatic products increased by 4.7%, with a decrease of 0.1 percentage points; the price of eggs decreased by 16.6%, with a decrease of 0.8%; the price of fresh fruits decreased by 27.7%, with a decrease of 1.3%. Non food prices were flat from a 0.3% rise last month. Among non food products, the price of health care increased by 1.6%, the price of transportation and communication decreased by 4.4%, of which the price of gasoline and diesel decreased by 15.7% and 17.5% respectively.
