At least 85 people have been hospitalized for Salmonella infection. If onions in peoples homes are listed as recalled products, they should immediately throw them away, if you dont know the exact source of onions, dont eat or sell them, and so do other foods placed with them, the CDC said in a statement. The U.S. Food and drug administration also warned against eating a variety of onion products from a company called Thomson International Inc.

According to the report, several companies in the United States have recalled onion products, as well as salads and pizzas containing onion ingredients. Symptoms of Salmonella infection include diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps, which may occur within 6 hours to 6 days after infection. People under 5 years old, over 65 years old and with weak immune system are at higher risk of severe symptoms.

Novel coronavirus pneumonia is also facing severe diseases in 43 states, including California, Arizona and Texas. The center for Disease Control and prevention called on people with symptoms to contact their doctors immediately to elaborate on the food they ate in the week before the onset of the disease, and to report to health authorities and investigators.
