More than 90percent of the poor villages in China have set up specialized farmer cooperatives

Liu Yongfu, Secretary of the Party group and director of the Poverty Alleviation Office of the State Council, said that after more than seven years of targeted poverty alleviation, especially the nearly five years of poverty alleviation, the number of rural poverty-stricken people under Chinas current standards has decreased from 98.99 million at the end of 2012 to 5.51 million by the end of 2019. From poverty-stricken villages to poverty-stricken areas, there are many industries to play an important role in poverty alleviation.

According to the statistics of the Poverty Alleviation Office of the State Council, 92% of the poverty-stricken people in China have participated in the industrial poverty alleviation, and 72% of the people who have been lifted out of poverty have received the support of industrial poverty alleviation.

In order to make industrial poverty alleviation achieve greater effectiveness, all parts of the country implement classified policies to cultivate the poor. By the end of June this year, a total of 414000 poverty-stricken village leaders have been trained to start businesses and become rich. They have brought about 4.06 million poor people out of poverty.

The Poverty Alleviation Office of the State Council requires that the poverty-stricken population affected by recent floods be included in the industrial assistance in a timely manner, and give priority to the development of short-term and fast-paced and courtyard economy, so as to ensure that the impact of the disaster on poverty alleviation is minimized.
