 Conductor Yang Hongnian died at the age of 86


Yang Hongnian was born in 1934 in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. He loved music since he was a child. In 1951, he was the conductor of the chorus of Nanjing Peoples radio station. In the autumn of 1951, he was admitted to the Music Department of Shanghai East China Normal University. He studied conducting under Professor Yang Jiaren and German conductor schitzmann, and learned the form and polyphony of former Soviet expert arzamanov. In 1958, he taught in the Music Department of Beijing Normal University of art, and in 1973 he was transferred to the music composition department and conductor Department of the Central Conservatory of music.
