The hearing of CEOs of the four major US technology giants will be held on the 30th

The House Judiciary Committee will have a focused discussion with Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Tim Cook of apple and Sunday Pichai of Google on the antitrust issues each company is facing.

The hearing is part of a year long congressional investigation into anti competitive behavior in the technology industry. The hearing will be conducted online to comply with the administrative order to maintain a safe social distance during the outbreak of the new crown. Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey is not expected to attend the hearing, although some Republican lawmakers have urged him to.

Since June, we have been investigating the market dominance of a small number of digital platforms and the appropriateness of existing antitrust laws and enforcement, Jerrold Nadler, chairman of the Commission, and David cicilline, chairman of the antitrust sub committee, said in a statement on Saturday

Given the central role these companies play in the lives of the American people, its crucial that their CEOs remain candid, they added. As we have said from the beginning, their testimony is crucial for us to complete this investigation.

The House Judiciary Committee is expected to issue a full report on the investigation in late summer or early autumn. (small)
