Among them, the twitter debate between Carlos Martinez and Donald Trump Jr. on the so-called China Threat Theory has attracted hundreds of thousands of people all over the world, and the number of single tweets exceeded 140000.

As the only Chinese think tank scholar invited to speak, Wang Wen, executive director of Chongyang Institute of financial studies of Renmin University of China, believes that in the next three months, before the US election, it will be a high-risk period for Sino US relations. The trump administration can do anything to win the election. If there is a new cold war, it will be a disaster to China US relations, to mankind and to the world. This is an open political conspiracy. The trump administration is the source of this disaster. Fortunately, China was not as enraged by the iron curtain speech as the Soviet Union did in 1947, and did not want to seek a return to the United States in the form of a new cold war.

John Ross, one of the initiators of the rejection of the new cold war initiative and former director of business and policy department in London, UK, and senior researcher of Chongyang Institute of financial research, Renmin University of China, said that in the past few decades, the United States was the only country that openly launched a large-scale aggressive war, bringing disaster to the world. The United States has imposed unilateral sanctions outside the framework of the UN agreement, thus disturbing the international order. The threat of war against China will be an unimaginable disaster. He stressed that the new cold war is a threat to mankind. The whole world should oppose the new cold war and make greater unity and efforts to jointly fight against epidemic situation, war, climate change, racism in any form, and jointly promote economic and peaceful development.

Carlos Martinez, the author of ending at the beginning: the collapse of the Soviet Union, believes that Chinas rise should not be regarded as a threat; Chinas achievements after shaking off its century old humiliation - joining the ranks of technologically advanced countries and helping hundreds of millions of people out of poverty are praiseworthy. Peaceful coexistence, mutual benefit and win-win results among major powers are not only possible but also necessary.

As state councilor and foreign minister Wang Yi said on July 9, mutual respect, trust and cooperation - grasp the correct direction of Sino US relations, Sino US relations are facing the most serious challenges since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1979. He called on China US relations to return to normal track and truly achieve long-term, healthy and stable development.

Many participants in this rejection of the new cold war unanimously said that any new cold war in any form is completely against the interests of mankind, and called on the United States to abandon the Cold War mentality, support China and the United States to establish relations on the basis of mutual dialogue, and to work for human unity.

In order to let people all over the world better understand the purpose and significance of the launch of the event, the multilingual text of the joint statement any new cold war against China is against human interests was published before the meeting, including 14 languages including Chinese, English, French and Russian. More than 40 political figures, scholars and social opinion leaders from all over the world signed the statement with peace organizations, and has been signed jointly by retired former U.S. defense officials and leaders of European left-wing political parties.

The following is the full text of the joint statement:

Any new cold war against China is against the interests of mankind

We have noticed that the US governments words and actions against China are becoming more and more radical. This poses a threat to world peace. It is a very serious common problem for mankind to deal with climate change, control epidemic situation, fight against racial discrimination, and hinder economic development.

Therefore, we believe that any form of new cold war will be totally against the interests of mankind. Instead, we support maximum global cooperation to meet the enormous challenges we face as a species.

Therefore, we call on the United States to abandon the Cold War mentality and other actions it is taking that pose a major threat to world peace, such as withdrawing from the Treaty on intermediate range nuclear forces, the Paris climate change agreement, and constantly withdrawing from United Nations agencies. The United States should also stop pressuring other countries to support its dangerous stance.

We support the establishment of relations between China and the United States on the basis of mutual dialogue and are committed to human solidarity.
