Lin zhengyuee: the central government supports Hong Kongs fight against the epidemic

Lin zhengyuee published a long article fighting the epidemic in June, with one heart and one mind on her personal Facebook

Epidemic development

Since July 5, the epidemic situation in Hong Kong has deteriorated sharply. The number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong has increased greatly, involving different environments and industries. More than 40% of the cases are of unknown origin, which greatly increases the risk of virus transmission. Large scale community outbreaks are imminent.

The multiple backgrounds of the confirmed patients make it difficult to track contacts and cut off the transmission chain. In addition to the increase in local confirmed cases, the number of elderly patients and long-term patients, unfortunately, has also increased. In the past two weeks, nine patients have died, bringing the death toll from the epidemic to 16 in Hong Kong. I would like to extend my deep sympathy to their families.

At present, the utilization rate of negative pressure wards and beds in hospitals under the hospital authority is close to 80%, which brings great pressure to front-line personnel.

Also under heavy pressure are colleagues from the centre for health protection and the public health laboratory service of the Department of health. Their work on test and trace can be said to be a race against time. In order to cope with the increasing workload, we have commissioned three testing agencies to take over virus detection for four groups of high-risk groups in the community and outsource part of the testing work to private laboratories. I have also asked the police to use its supercomputer to assist in tracking cases.

Anti epidemic work

The outbreak is threatening. The SAR government does not dare to neglect it. We have taken the most severe measures since the outbreak of the epidemic in January this year as the basis to deal with the extremely serious epidemic situation and implement the spicy measures. At the same time, the following work is being carried out at full speed:

uff081uff09 Strengthen detection capability through public-private partnerships.

In the past ten days, the average daily number of tests has exceeded 10000. It is estimated that at present, the capacity of the private sector in Hong Kong can reach no less than 20000 tests per day, and it is estimated that by the first ten days of August, it will reach 50000 tests a day.

uff082uff09 Flexible response, increase epidemic prevention and anti epidemic facilities. The hospital authority has taken over the liyumen resort, which was originally used as a quarantine centre, to set up the first community isolation facility for patients with mild or no symptoms. The first 23 patients were admitted on July 24. We have also begun to refit the Asia International Expo pavilion as a community isolation and treatment center. In order to make up for the shortage of quarantine facilities, we have recently decided to build an additional 2000 units in Pennys Bay, which will be completed by the end of this year. By then, the Bay will be able to provide a total of 3500 units, making it the largest special quarantine center in Hong Kong, which will be able to cope with an outbreak in winter.

uff083uff09 Take precautions and plan further control measures. Home order or foot ban order and other measures like curfew have far-reaching impact. If it is not a last resort, extreme measures will not be used rashly. I have noticed that in recent days, false information about the implementation of the foot ban order by the SAR government has been circulating on the Internet, and some people have even taken holidays in the name of some media

Journalism

u3002 These malicious rumors have ulterior motives, which have made the anti epidemic work more difficult and should be strongly condemned by all walks of life.

The central government supports the whole city to fight the epidemic and unite as one

(function(){( window.slotbydup=window .slotbydup||[]).push({id:u5811557,container:ssp_ 5811557, async:true });})(); The central government has always been very concerned about the changes in the epidemic situation in Hong Kong and supported the SAR Government in its anti epidemic work. From the earliest stage of mobilizing masks and other anti epidemic materials to Hong Kong, assisting Hong Kong people stranded in Hubei and those in other places to return to Hong Kong, and recently, at my request, providing assistance in increasing the detection capacity and refitting the Asia International Expo Hall for similar shelter hospitals, fully reflecting the concern for Hong Kong people u3002 However, some people with ulterior motives have taken this opportunity to spread rumors that the mainland medical team has come to Hong Kongs public hospitals to provide diagnosis and treatment services, or to send the genetic samples of Hong Kong people back to the mainland. It is infuriating that these people continue to take the opportunity to discredit the Central Committee and undermine the relationship between the Central Committee and the SAR. Now that the epidemic situation is serious, we must be more energetic and actively respond to it. We firmly believe that Hong Kong can walk out of the epidemic again. I urge you to grit your teeth, endure all kinds of inconveniences in life, stick to social distance and reduce going out for a period of time in the future. I also appeal to shop owners and business owners to tide over the difficulties together. If necessary, the government will try its best to cooperate. As long as we work together, we can definitely overcome the difficulties and start again. Source: Overseas editor: Hua Chengyu_ NBJ11143
