Help Xinhua press to tap Red Resources

On July 23, Wu Weishan, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese peoples Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), director of the Chinese Art Museum and famous sculptor Wu Weishan, was invited to visit Xinhua Daily (Group) to investigate the inheritance and protection of red culture.

During the period, they visited the cultural facilities such as Qingfeng corridor and spring garden in the media square of Xinhua newspaper industry and the Historical Museum of Xinhua daily to intuitively understand the development process, staff style, cultural heritage and architectural environment of Xinhua Daily. It is also learned that Xinhua Daily is taking the reconstruction and expansion project of Xinbao Historical Museum as the starting point to promote the red cultural atmosphere of the newspaper.

It is understood that Xinhua Daily was born in the war of resistance against Japan on January 11, 1938. It was created by the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai. It was the first political organ newspaper of the Communist Party of China to be published in the whole country. Mao Zedong wrote the headlines three times.

During the communication with party secretary and President of Xinhua daily and chairman of Xinhua news media group, Wu Weishan said that red culture is a precious asset in the development of the Communist Party of China in the past century, and it is our duty and mission to inherit and promote red culture. After 82 years of inheritance and development, Xinhua Daily has a special position in the development history of the Communist Party of China. The red cultural resources of the newspaper are rich and full of characteristics. Therefore, Wu Weishan proposed to use artistic language flexibly and tell good red stories.

The 13 year old CPPCC focuses on red culture

Red boat editorial department noted that Wu Weishan has been elected as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese peoples Political Consultative Conference for two consecutive terms since 2008, and served as a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese peoples Political Consultative Conference in 2018. Starting from his own occupation, he became a member of the CPPCC. During this period, Wu Weishan has always been concerned about and committed to the inheritance and protection of red culture.

Last year, Wu Weishan submitted a proposal on strengthening aesthetic education and its dissemination in the new era. He proposed that the spirit of traditional Chinese aesthetics should be fully demonstrated in the teaching process. Over the past year, Wu Weishan, who served as the curator of the Chinese Art Museum and a member of the national education materials Committee, has put his proposal into practice.

This year is Wu Weishans 13th year as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese peoples Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). This time, he has brought four proposals, all of which are related to culture, which specifically refers to the inheritance and protection of red culture.

In the proposal of the NPC and CPPCC, he mentioned that when he went deep into the red revolutionary base areas, he found that there was still a lack of high-quality fine arts in the revolutionary holy land, and even some unsatisfactory and low-quality works appeared. Moreover, most of the Red Art classics are collected in the major art museums and museums, while the relevant revolutionary memorial museums in the old areas are rarely collected. To this end, he put forward the proposal of calling for strengthening the creation of fine works with red themes and implementing them to revolutionary memorial sites.

In addition, he also stressed the need to strengthen the construction of artistic talent team, lead the students to conduct field visits, and let the outstanding art works representing the era enter the revolutionary memorial area, tell the stories of the Chinese revolutionary figures, and show the great struggle course of the Communist Party of China.

It is worth noting that in order to protect the red relics, Wu Weishan once went along the route of the Red Armys long march to explore where the protection of red relics and the excavation of red culture were not sufficient. He also suggested that if you want to create red theme works, you can try to understand the red history by focusing on the long march.
