WTA announced the cancellation of the 2020 China tennis season, including the China open and other seven competitions

October 12 - China open (Beijing)

October 26 - Zhengzhou open

November 9 - Shiseido u00b7 Shenzhen WTA year end finals

November 16 - Hengqin life Zhuhai WTA super elite

Steve Simon, chairman and chief executive of WTA, said: we are very disappointed that we can not hold international level events in Chinese mainland this year. Unfortunately, the decision also includes the cancellation of Shiseido u00b7 Shenzhen WTA year-end finals and the corresponding advance of Porsche to Shenzhen. But we respect the decision that has been made and look forward to WTA returning to China as soon as possible next season

Simon added: we are grateful to the regional events for their great efforts in this process, and to the China Tennis Association for its dedication and commitment to the WTA. A lot of people around the world are looking forward to the Chinese season and we are as sorry as they are. We thank the fans, partners and the whole region for their support and we will continue to work hard for the rest of the 2020 season

WTA will continue to push for the restart of the tour and will host as many games as possible this season to provide as many competition opportunities as possible. Based on the above decision, WTA is considering the final adjustment of the provisional calendar.
