According to CCTV news, a statement on the official website of the US Department of Commerce on June 29 local time said that special related treatment to Hong Kong had been cancelled, including suspension of exemption from export license, and differential treatment assessment was in progress. U.S. Secretary of state pompeio said that the export of controlled defense equipment to Hong Kong would be stopped immediately, and the United States would ask for permission to export related technologies that can be used for both military and civilian purposes.
In response to this, the chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mrs Carrie Lam, said on June 30 that the impact on Hong Kong was very small. When necessary, I believe that the state will also take counter-measures. If the counter-measures proposed by the central government at the diplomatic level need the cooperation of the Hong Kong SAR government, we will certainly fully cooperate.
