Samsung is the largest single investor in South Korea. In recent years, it has invested US $17 billion in Vietnam. The main production capacity of smart phones has been transferred to Vietnam factories. At present, Samsung has 6 factories and 2 R & D centers in Vietnam.
In October 2019, Samsung officially announced the closure of its last smartphone manufacturing plant in China, Huizhou, Guangdong Province. In the future, Vietnam and India will become the main production bases of Samsung mobile phones. With the closure of the factory, employees of Huizhou factory have also gone through the formalities of resignation.
