This is the third geosynchronous orbit satellite of beidou-3 global satellite navigation system (GEO satellite, known as lucky star by Beidou, the Fifth Academy). Although the number of geo series satellites is not large, its role is critical. Beidou characteristics leap to a new height

Since 1980s, China began to explore the development path of satellite navigation system suitable for national conditions, and gradually formed a three-step development strategy. By the end of 2000, Beidou-1 system will be built to provide services to China; by the end of 2012, beidou-2 system will be built to provide services to the Asia Pacific region. Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system is composed of MEO satellite, IGSO satellite and GEO satellite, including 24 MEO satellites, 3 IGSO satellites and 3 geo satellites. Compared with the active MEO satellite and elegant IGSO satellite, the Jixing satellite family runs 36000 kilometers away from the earth.

The satellite platform adopted by Jixing is the dongfanghong-3b (navigation) satellite platform developed by the Fifth Academy of Sciences, which is one of the large-scale satellite platforms in active service in China. With strong carrying capacity, the satellite has six abilities of radio navigation, radio measurement, satellite based enhancement, precise single point positioning, power enhancement, time synchronization between stations and positioning, which can provide navigation and enhancement services for users in China and surrounding areas.

The lucky star family follows the most distinctive features of Beidou system, active positioning and short message communication, which is the pioneering work of Beidou System in China. Active positioning, using radio measurement technology, is a unique gene of Beidou. In March this year, after the second GEO satellite of beidou-3 was put in place, the active positioning function of Beidou system under the new system was verified, and the comprehensive upgrade of radio measurement function began. With the entry of one belt, one road, third Jetion, the Beidou three Jetion will open a larger distance on the equator, providing services for the wider area along the one belt and one road. The Beidou characteristics will leap to a new height.

Beidou-1 has solved the most basic problems of the satellite, such as the solar sailboard for power supply and distribution, which provides the satellite with components from light to electricity, as well as the rotating mechanism of the control system. The localization of these core products gives Beidou a Chinese physique. Beidou-2 broke the technical blockade of foreign countries, conquered a number of key technologies represented by the overall technology of navigation satellite and high-precision onboard atomic clock, and let the heart of the satellite navigation system beat the heart rate of China. Beidou No. 3 is the first to start the journey from and to the leader. Double test to ensure no hidden danger of satellite

Under the double tests of the epidemic situation and severe quality situation, the satellite test team of the Fifth Academy of Sciences has experienced a special course of launching site. Under the pressure, the Beidou Iron Army has blossomed in high spirits and made every effort to sprint to the end of the global networking battle.

The third lucky star test team went to the launch site on April 2, 2020. In the past two and a half months experience of the launch site, it has the longest continuous time in the field.

In view of the impact of the epidemic, the experimental team planned ahead of time to prepare for and carry out the short-term project in advance. Some of the team members entered the site on February 1 after the Spring Festival and ended the launch of the last lucky star in mid March. In order to better complete the auxiliary line work before the satellite entered the site, they stayed in the launch site and two consecutive missions came down. Half of 2020 has passed. The working rhythm did not slow down due to the extension of time in the launch site, but became more tense. The test team takes the initiative to increase the code, strictly and carefully, and carry out data interpretation and verification over and over again to ensure that there is no hidden danger in the satellite. Although the old Beidou people who have rich mobilization experience stick to the launch site, they generally reflect that the mission of the launch site is the most tiring one. They are highly nervous to review documents, check data, make records and think about plans. In order to leave no hidden dangers and regrets, they have to fight, the team members joked.

For a long time, I have been stationed in the launch site, and my family has taken care of the overall situation. Although I feel sorry for my family, Beidou people have no regrets. Beidou is our child. For the sake of the babys healthy growth, its worth eating more bitterness and suffering more fatigue! This is the common aspiration of Beidou people.

From the launch site of beidou-3, the beginning of the mission, to the holding position of beidou-3, the more adversity it is, the more fearless Beidou Iron Army can be seen.
