TCLs printing ambition
TCL technology has been in the panel industry for a long time. In 2009, TCL Huaxing established and invested heavily to establish multiple LCD and flexible AMOLED production lines. And continue to invest in the next generation of new display field, promote the flexible printing display OLED / qled, micro led and other new display technology routes.
As early as 2014, TCL aimed at printing and display technology, established Guangdong Juhua printing and display technology Co., Ltd. in combination with Tianma microelectronics and other manufacturers, as well as South China University of technology and other universities, to engage in the development of printing and flexible display technology. At present, TCL has developed a 31 inch 4K printed h-qled display screen, and developed a 31 inch flexible prototype for inkjet printing.
The industrialization of technology is naturally inseparable from upstream and downstream cooperation. After the establishment of Juhua company, TCL signed strategic cooperation agreements with DuPont, Merck, Sumitomo, Nissan and kateeva. These partners will support Juhuas material and process requirements in the development of printing OLED technology, and customize relevant R & D equipment for Juhua.
Meanwhile, TCL also invested in kateeva, a large-scale inkjet equipment company. TCL Huaxing had contact with joled for a long time, so that three years ago, TCL had heard that TCL would invest in joled. Now, TCL and joled finally formally join hands.

Japanese enterprises have always been good at tackling technical difficulties. Joled has mastered the worlds leading OLED material printing and film forming technology, oxide semiconductor technology and flexible / winding panel related technologies.
According to the public information, in 2017, joled launched the first printed OLED panel, with a size of 21.6 inches and a resolution of 4K, which was supplied to ASUS; in 2019, the worlds first ink-jet printing OLED panel production line, g5.5 nengmei production line, which was invested by joled, began operation and trial production. In the same year, joled also invested 25.5 billion yen (about 1.54 billion yuan), after the construction of OLED in Chiba County, Japan The segment die set processing plant mainly produces 10-32 inch printed OLED display modules, which are mainly used in automobile display and high-end display markets, and is expected to be mass produced in 2020.
This also means that on the basis of nengmei and Chiba plant, OLED printing of joled will usher in an important stage of mass production this year. At this time, TCLs investment is just at the right time. For joled, it also needs industrialization funds and market assistance.
Seize the high point of upstream Technology

He suggested that the development of domestic new display industry could strengthen technical cooperation with Japan, Europe and other countries and regions with advantages in the field of new display materials and equipment. The background of the proposal is that the key materials and core equipment in the panel industry of China are still heavily dependent on imports. For example, the domestic market share of new display key luminescent materials is only about 5%, and that of LCD and OLED core materials is only 47% and 17%, respectively.
At present, in terms of large-scale OLED, Korean LGs panel company LGD is still a top priority, and Samsungs SDC plays a leading role in small and medium-sized OLED.
