The Ministry of industry and information technology said recently that it will accelerate the construction of 5g network. It is estimated that by the end of the year, the number of 5g base stations nationwide will exceed 600000, achieving continuous outdoor coverage of prefecture level cities, key coverage of counties and towns, and indoor coverage of key scenes.
Local plans are in full swing. In the past month, Henan said that it plans to complete the 5g investment of 10.45 billion yuan this year, build 29000 5g base stations, and realize the full coverage of county towns and urban areas above by the end of the year. Guizhou said it would speed up the construction of 5g network this year, strive to build 20000 5g base stations, and realize 5g connection between counties and counties. In 2020, Hunan plans to build more than 20000 5g base stations, and by the end of the year, it will achieve 5g network continuous coverage in the core urban areas of 14 cities, prefectures and key counties. In addition, Jiangsu, Yunnan and other places also launched relevant deployment.
In terms of operators, China Telecom recently revealed that it is striving to build 300000 5g base stations this year, covering all cities above prefecture level in the country, and plans to realize 5g independent networking, the first commercial operation in the world. China Mobile plans to achieve 5g network coverage in urban areas above prefecture level in 2020, with a net increase of 70 million 5g package customers.
