 Chinese scholars have made important progress in the study of the inhibition mechanism of superbacteria


Due to the abuse of antibiotics in recent years, a kind of superbacteria - methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), which is resistant to all u03b2 - lactam drugs (including penicillin and cephalosporin), has emerged. Once infected with this super bacteria, it may cause severe pneumonia, septicemia, endocarditis and other deep infection, even life-threatening.

The application of targocil, an inhibitor, is currently considered to be an effective solution against this superbug. Professor Chen Yuxing, Professor Zhou congzhao and Professor Sun Linfeng of the University of science and technology of China have worked together to clarify the mechanism of targocils inhibition of this superbug.
