Ministry of Foreign Affairs: assist overseas Chinese students to return home if the epidemic develops

Cui Aimin, director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of foreign affairs, said that some countries with more confirmed cases, such as South Korea, Japan, Italy and other countries, have many overseas Chinese, international students and other personnel. The Chinese government attaches great importance to their local health and safety, and urges the governments in the host countries to pay attention to and solve their health and safety problems. The Ministry of foreign affairs and the relevant embassies and consulates abroad pay close attention to the epidemic situation in the relevant countries and the situation of our local personnel, and actively carry out consular protection and services. At present, the countries with serious epidemic situation have not completely cut off the public transportation with the outside world, so local people can choose direct flights or transfer detours to return home, hoping that Chinese citizens in the local area can actively cooperate with the epidemic prevention and control measures in the host country, and strengthen their own protection. In case of emergency, please call for help from relevant departments of the local government and contact the Chinese Embassy and consulate. If the epidemic develops further and the health and safety of our local people are seriously threatened, we will take necessary measures to actively assist and arrange their return home. For those returning from areas with serious epidemic situation, the entry shall be coordinated with the local epidemic prevention and control measures.
