The Taliban delegation arrived in Qatar and will sign a withdrawal agreement with the United States

The United States and the Taliban are expected to sign a (peace) agreement on February 29 to reduce violence in Afghanistan, U.S. Secretary of state pompeio said Tuesday, AFP reported earlier.

The U.S. government and Taliban representatives have held several rounds of negotiations in Doha since September 2018, which were interrupted for a while and then restarted in December 2019. On December 12, several sources familiar with the progress of negotiations between the United States and the Taliban in Afghanistan disclosed that if the Taliban can significantly reduce violence, the two sides may sign an agreement as soon as this month. If the agreement is signed, it will promote the final withdrawal of about 13000 U.S. troops from Afghanistan and start the process of Afghanistans internal peace dialogue.

US media have predicted that after the signing of the peace agreement between the US and the Taliban, the size of US troops in Afghanistan will be reduced from about 13000 now to about 8600.
