Chinese Academy of Sciences: sharing genome sequence of 5 new coronavirus strains with the United States

The full text is as follows:

The genome sequences of five new coronaviruses 2019 collected by the National Center for biological information (CNCB) / National Center for genomics Science (NGDC) were synchronized and shared with the GenBank data of NCBI nucleic acid database.

Since the 2019 new coronavirus information database (2019ncovr) established by CNCB / NGDC has been put into operation, 87 non redundant genome sequence information of 82 viruses produced in the world has been collected and integrated, which is the database with the largest number of 2019 new coronavirus genome. With the support of the computer network information center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the information base provides data services for more than 30000 visitors from 106 countries and regions around the world, and the sequence files are downloaded more than 300000 times.

In order to further expand the application scope of 2019-ncov genome sequence, CNCB / NGDC has established a data synchronization and sharing mechanism with the international bioinformatics database. The first batch of five 2019-ncov genome sequences (serial number: gwhabkf00000000-gwhabkj00000000) independently collected have been published in NCBI (serial number: mt019529-mt019533, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/mt019529, MT019530uff0cMT019531uff0cMT019532uff0cMT019533uff09u3002 Through the sharing mechanism, domestic researchers only need to submit the data once to realize the simultaneous release of data in CNBC / NGDC and NCBI. CNCB / NGDC will continue to promote data sharing, and provide convenient and fast data support for researchers to carry out in-depth research on new coronavirus and epidemic prevention and control.
