In response to the problem of one bed is hard to find, Yang Yunyan, vice governor of Hubei Province, said at a press conference on June 6 that Wuhan took various emergency measures to increase the number of beds. On the whole, the whole province is trying to solve this problem as a whole. One is to break down the bed pressure of designated hospitals by setting up centralized isolation points; actively strive for resources from the state, ask for more medical staff, and ensure the normal operation of designated hospitals and centralized isolation points. At the same time, for the treatment of severe patients, we are now focusing on the establishment of a designated hospital for the treatment of severe patients, trying to reduce the death rate of severe patients.
We will further expand the supply of beds, expropriate a number of hotels, venues, training centers, etc. for centralized treatment of suspected cases, light patients or close contacts, and transform some tertiary general hospitals into designated hospitals.
