Tehran, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Irans Supreme Court has approved a death sentence for an Iranian citizen who is a spy for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, Iranian Justice Department spokesman Ismaili said Thursday, according to the official Iranian news agency.

Ismaili said at a press conference on the same day that Amir Rahimpur, an Iranian man, received a large amount of money from the CIA to provide Irans nuclear intelligence to the latter.

Ismaili said the man had previously been tried and sentenced to death, the Supreme Court recently decided to uphold the original sentence, and will soon be implemented.
