Odyssey G9 is equipped with a 49 inch curved screen with a resolution of 5120x1440 (equivalent to two 2K screens combined), VA panel, 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, 1000 nit brightness, and supports g-sync and freesync2.
One of the most striking points of Odyssey G9 is that it adopts a 1000r curvature design. At present, the common curvature of curved screens on the market is around 1800r and 1600r. 1000r means that the display radius is 1000mm. Compared with Odyssey G9, other curved screens are really like straight screens.
With the curvature of 1000r, Odyssey G9 should be able to bring more immersion than other curved surface displays. Samsung also said that human peripheral vision closely matches the curvature of 1000r, and it has also been redesigned to provide players with a new immersive experience.
Foreign media said they got some feedback on the scene - Odyssey G9s picture is too big to notice everything on the screen when playing fortress night.
Odyssey G9 is expected to be available later this year and should be more expensive.
