The death of major general Sulaimani has completely ignited Irans fire of revenge.
Irans parliament has unanimously passed a resolution on the same day to treat the U.S. military as a terrorist organization and carry out harshrevenge, Press TV and Mehr news agency reported Wednesday.
It is understood that this bill is an amendment to the bill approved on April 23 last year. After the US listed Irans Islamic Revolutionary Guard as a foreign terrorist organization in April last year, Iran adopted a resolution to list the US central command and its subordinate forces as terrorist organizations.
Ali Larijani, speaker of Irans parliament, said Monday that after the U.S. assassination of general Sulaimani, the Parliament had amended the previous bill and announced that all members of the Pentagon, including commanders, agents and those who killed Sulaimani, would be considered terrorists and that all Iranian people supported resistance and retaliation.
Larijani added that the revised bill would allow 200 million euros to be allocated from the Iranian National Development Fund to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Al Quds in the next two months.
The resolution paves the way for Irans forthcoming retaliation against the United States. Earlier, Irans top leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, had said Iran would take tough revenge on the incident. At a prayer ceremony for Sulaimani on the 6th, Khamenei again stressed that severe reprisals are coming to these criminals.
Hussein salami, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, also said he would take revenge. He said at the funeral ceremony on the 6th that the United States will pay the price it will regret for its actions, and the actions of the terrorists in the United States will end with the eradication of the American army on this land.
It is not clear what retaliation Iran will take. In the bill approved last year, any assistance provided to the U.S. central command and its subordinate forces, including military, intelligence, financial, educational, organizational and logistical, to counter the Islamic Revolutionary Guard and the Islamic Republic of Iran, will be recognized as supporting terrorism..
Geng Shuang, a spokesman for Chinas foreign ministry, urged the U.S. side not to use force indiscriminately at a regular press conference on the 7th when Irans parliament listed the U.S. military as a terrorist organization.
Geng Shuang expressed that China is highly concerned about the current situation in the Middle East. Further deterioration of the situation in the Gulf region is not in the interest of any party, and ensuring peace and stability in the region is essential for the world. China has always advocated that all parties should earnestly abide by the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the basic norms of international relations, that the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries should be respected, and that peace and stability in the Middle East and the Gulf region should be maintained. We urge the US side not to use force indiscriminately. At the same time, we call on all parties concerned to exercise restraint, avoid the escalation of events in turn, return to the track of dialogue and consultation as soon as possible, and promote the cooling down of tensions as soon as possible.
