He Tang, a villager in Tangbei village, can clearly remember that at 2:00 p.m. on January 2, he noticed that there was a crack on the wall of the house in his courtyard, the wall brick fell off and broke a ground, and the foundation also obviously sank. I told the Tangbei village committee at the first time. The next day, including the town and county natural resources bureau, people came to investigate. I havent seen such a big hole before.

The reporter learned that Fuchuan Yao Autonomous County is located in the northeast of Guangxi, the border of Guangxi and Hunan, with obvious mountainous terrain. Tangbei village is about 10km away from the east of the county. It is composed of two natural villages, Shanzhai village and Shuizhai village. There are about 2000 villagers in total, mainly from rice and vegetable planting.

He Tangke told reporters that similar situations have occurred in the village in the past, but the collapse area is relatively small, generally about 1 meter, and it does not affect the houses and villagers lives, so serious is the first time indeed.

It has been basically determined as an underground karst cave, which is affected by the karst terrain. In addition to the previous dry weather, the water level has dropped and the foundation has collapsed. There have been similar situations in Fuchuan County in the past, said Zhang Li, deputy director of the ecological restoration unit of the natural resources bureau of Fuchuan Yao Autonomous County.

According to Zhang, on January 3, he and his colleagues came to the site to investigate and found that the scope of the foundation collapse was about 3 meters long and 4 meters wide, covering an area of more than 10 square meters. Moreover, since the first discovery, the foundation and houses there have continued to collapse, the walls are cracked, and the doors have been squeezed and deformed. In order to be safe, the villagers were helped to evacuate on the same day.

At present, the hetangke family lives in the county seat of Fuchuan County. Due to the timely discovery and evacuation, no one was injured at home, and no property damage. He didnt think about the following living arrangements.

The tension indicates that if a small area of karst terrain collapses, it can be treated by sediment landfill, but the scope of the collapse affects the houses and buildings, and the villagers need to move away immediately. The depth of this collapse has not been accurately determined, and further investigation and study are needed in the treatment plan.
