The statement pointed out that since the founding of new China, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee, Xinjiang has made great achievements in economic, social and human rights undertakings, greatly improved the living standards of people of all ethnic groups, guaranteed the freedom of religious belief according to law, and protected and promoted the excellent traditional culture of ethnic minorities. People of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang share the fruits of reform and development through equality, solidarity, harmony and mutual assistance.
Freedom of religious belief is a long-term basic policy of the Chinese government. According to the provisions of the Constitution and the law of regional ethnic autonomy, the freedom of religious belief of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang is fully respected and protected. Xinjiang has different ethnic groups such as Uighur, Han, Kazak, Hui and Mongolia, with a population of 25 million, forming a pattern of coexistence of Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity and other religions. Among them, the people of 10 ethnic minorities, such as Uighur, Kazak and Hui, generally believe in Islam. There are 24400 mosques, 29000 imam, Khatib and other Islamic clergy. In accordance with the states organized and planned Hajj policy, the Xinjiang government has arranged charter flights every year since 1996 to ensure the successful completion of Hajj by local Muslims of all ethnic groups, and has provided high-quality services in entry-exit, medical treatment, catering and other aspects to ensure the safety and order of Hajj activities. During Ramadan every year, Muslim peoples fasting or non fasting is entirely personal and free from interference. Local governments at all levels make every effort to ensure the market supply of festivals such as Eid and the safety of religious activities. The Islamic Association of the autonomous region actively organized and carried out Scripture interpretation and preaching, translated the Koran and the Hadith, compiled and published religious knowledge books, launched Uyghur language websites and Xinjiang Muslim journals, spread the true spirit of Islam, which is patriotic, peaceful, United, moderate and tolerant, and guided the Muslim people of all ethnic groups to believe and act. We will run the Xinjiang class of China Islamic Economic College and Xinjiang Islamic Economic College well, and train high-level Islamic talents.
Since the 1990s, the three forces at home and abroad have been closely linked. Under the guise of religion, they use the simple national and religious feelings of the masses to incite religious fanaticism, spread religious extreme thoughts, and bewitch some believers who do not know the truth to engage in violent terrorist activities. A large number of facts have proved that violent terrorism and religious extremism have seriously damaged the stable and peaceful order, the atmosphere of unity and progress in Xinjiang, and trampled on the fundamental human rights of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, such as the right to life, the right to health and the right to development.
Xinjiang is the main battlefield of Chinas anti-terrorism and de extreme struggle. The Islamic community in Xinjiang actively cooperates in the work of de radicalization. Many patriotic religious people go deep into the people who are infringed by the religious extreme thoughts, interpret the classic doctrines, criticize the Jihad martyrdom to heaven and heresy and other heretics spread by the religious extreme forces. Most of the educated people wake up, repent, go astray, and consciously stay away from the extreme He said that we should not only be a good believer, but also a good citizen who is patriotic and law-abiding.
The China Islamic Association said that the 2019 Uyghur human rights policy bill passed by the house of representatives of the United States Congress ignored the objective facts and distorted and slandered the human rights situation in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and the policies of the Chinese government governing Xinjiang. We urge the US side to respect the objective facts and stop interfering in Chinas internal affairs and hurting the feelings of the Chinese people through religious human rights issues.
