Overseas, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- 95 year old former U.S. President Jimmy Carter returned to hospital last weekend for treatment for urinary tract infection, ABC News reported Tuesday. On November 27 local time, Carter successfully reduced the brain pressure caused by multiple falls after surgery, and just came home for Thanksgiving.
Carter was the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981, during which China and the United States formally established diplomatic relations. In 2002, Carter, a former peanut farmer, won the Nobel Peace Prize for his humanitarian work. In August 2015, Carter was diagnosed with skin cancer and received treatment. Four months later, he announced that the cancer cells in his body had disappeared.
