Erdogan: the United States has no right to ask Turkey to abandon the purchase of Russian S400 missiles

[global network military report] Russian satellite news agency reported on November 14 that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said after talks with us president trump in Washington that Washingtons demand for Ankara to give up the purchase of S-400 air defense system from Russia violated Turkeys sovereign rights.

Erdogan told Turkish reporters on the return flight, we dont think its right for our country to give up the S-400 completely.. Instead of buying the S-400 entirely, the U.S.s patriot air defense system should be used. We said we could buy patriots, but we cant give up the S-400. This is our sovereign right.

Erdogan added: we want to reach a positive result on the supply of F-35 fighters by the United States. I see this time that Trumps attitude on this issue is much more positive and constructive.

Erdogan believes that his visit to the United States as a whole is positive.

Turkeys purchase of Russian made S-400 air defense missile system was opposed by the United States. Washington threatened to postpone or cancel the sale of F-35 fighters to Turkey, and asked Turkey to abandon the deal and buy the American Patriot air defense missile instead. Turkey refused to give in and was disqualified from participating in the F-35 program by the United States.

The F-35 fighter delivered to Turkey was detained by the United States at the US military base
