Recently, China Academy of communications and broadband development alliance jointly released the white paper on broadband development in China (2019). According to the white paper, China has 1.23 billion 4G users, ranking first in the world. In the first half of 2019, the average charge for mobile data traffic was 5.6 yuan / GB, down 34.4% from 2018.
According to the white paper, by June 2019, the access rate of optical fiber and 4G in administrative villages across the country had exceeded 98%. The penetration rate of optical fiber users reached 91%, ranking first in the world; the total number of 4G users reached 1.23 billion, ranking first in the world.
In the second quarter of 2019, the average speed of fixed broadband reached 35.46 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 66.4%; the average speed of 4G reached 23.58 trillion, at the worlds highest level.
In the first half of 2019, the average rates of Chinas mobile data traffic and Hong Kong and Macao traffic roaming decreased by 34.4% and 30.2% respectively compared with 2018, and the average rates of SMEs broadband and dedicated lines decreased by 29.1% and 25.0% respectively compared with 2018.
