Overseas, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- President trump has appointed Chad wolf as the next Acting Secretary of homeland security, the fifth in his administration, according to the associated press and Capitol Hill on Nov. 1. Wolff was the chief of staff of kirstjen Nielsen, a former homeland security minister.

Last month, trump announced that Kevin McCarry, now Acting Secretary of homeland security, would resign. He will spend more time at home and will go to the private sector, trump said at the time, naming his successor next week, but didnt announce it until two weeks later.

Since Kirsten Nelson resigned in April this year, the Department of homeland security has had no fixed leader. On April 7, local time, President trump confirmed on the social platform that Secretary of Homeland Security Kirsten Nelson was about to leave his post, and announced that Kevin mccari, Commissioner of the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), was acting secretary of homeland security.
