Ctrip India and tour product manager said that compared with traditional popular destinations, India is still a smaller group. However, as touristsawareness of India continues to strengthen, so far, the number of visitors to India by booking Ctrip and group tours has increased by more than 40% compared with the same period of last year.
It is noteworthy that Indias tourism products are also constantly enriching, and the number of new and group tours booked is increasing. Represented by private groups, the number of bookings increased by more than 200% from January to September this year, with dedicated car guidance and private services running every day. By designing unique thematic tourism products, such as Buddhist pilgrimage products, Saffron Festival products, and Chinese movies in India, private groups can produce diversified Indian tourism routes, improve the market generally relying on the North Indian Golden Triangle, and let tourists know a diversified India.
At present, tourists from Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, Guangzhou and Suzhou have become pioneers to India. At the same time, according to the signing data, Chengdu, Dongguan, Suzhou, Foshan, Nanjing and other cities have more than doubled compared with last year, and Chengdu has become the first black horse visa processing city in India with nearly double growth.
According to Ctrip, group tours and free travel data, the number of people traveling to India increased by more than 70% from January to September 2019 compared with the same period last year. Unlike the traditional summer season, the peak time to India is at the beginning and end of the year. These nodes also reflect the characteristics of tourists. The Post-70s and post-80s tourists are the main group of Indian tourists, accounting for more than 60%. At present, tourists of this age group have entered a mature professional period, and have the money and leisure to explore the unknown and mysterious ancient Asian countries.
At the same time, according to Ctrips data on group tours and free travel, the majority of people choose to go to India alone, reaching 44%, followed by colleagues and friends, accounting for 30%.
