Netease Entertainment reported on Oct. 12 that the DNA of Lee Chunzai was also detected in the third case of Huacheng, the prototype of the Korean film Memory of Murder, according to Korean media reports. At present, the DNA comparison of Li Chunzai is consistent with that of five cases.
On October 11, the police department in southern Beijing, which is investigating the case, said that in late September, it received an oral notification from the National Academy of Sciences that the DNA of the fourth case was identical, and today it received a notification that the DNA found in the third case was identical with that of Li Chunzai. Apart from the eighth case identified as a copycat crime, there were five cases in which the DNA was identical to that of Li Chunzai.
Recently, the police obtained copies of the records of the eighth case and entrusted the National Academy of Sciences to appraise some of the evidence at that time. Evidence sent by the police to the National Academy of Sciences included axle grass and window paper found at the scene of the case.
